Privacy Policy for Recon
Last Updated: February 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how "Recon" (hereinafter referred to as "the App") collects, uses, and shares information about you (the "User") when you use our services, including our Flutter application.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:
- Server Connection Profiles:
- Connection Details: To connect to your Minecraft server, the App stores the Server Address, Port, Username, and Password. This information is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers except for direct communication with your configured Minecraft server via the Recon REST API.
- Shortcut Data:
- Configuration: Users can create shortcuts consisting of sections and commands.
- Cloud Synchronization: If you choose to upload your shortcuts to our cloud service (via Shortcut ID), the shortcut configuration (commands and structures) will be stored on our backend API to facilitate sharing and downloading by other users.
2. How We Use Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To provide the Minecraft server remote control service (sending commands, receiving responses).
- To manage and share command shortcuts as requested by the user.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not share your personal information with third parties except in the following circumstances:
- Service Providers: We share data with reliable third-party providers necessary for App operations:
- Google AdMob: For providing advertisement services.
- Public/Shared Shortcuts: When you upload a shortcut to our cloud, it becomes accessible to anyone who possesses the associated Shortcut ID.
4. Data Management & Security
We take the security of your data seriously.
- Encryption: Communication with your Minecraft server is encrypted using AES. Commands are encrypted using a key derived from your password, a random nonce, and a Unix timestamp to prevent replay attacks.
- Unencrypted Communication: The App also supports plain-text (HTTP) communication for servers without SSL. Users are responsible for the security of their network environment when using this feature.
- App Privacy: The App’s source code is obfuscated to enhance security and protect our intellectual property.
5. User Rights
Users can view, modify, or delete their connection profiles and shortcuts within the App. Since connection profiles are stored locally, deleting the App or its data will remove this information. For data uploaded to our shortcut cloud, please contact us if you wish to request deletion.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes via this page. Changes become effective immediately upon being posted on this page.
